Is this the Jeep Grand Wagoneer?
The Jeep Yuntu Concept made its debut earlier this year at the Shanghai Motor Show, and at first, it was believed to preview a China-only model. After its debut, there were rumors that the production Yuntu could head to the U.S., badged as a Chrysler
seven-seater SUV offering. But now, itís appearing the Yuntu could become the Grand Wagoneer in the U.S. based on these spy photos.
What we do know is that this three-row prototype features a design that matches the Yuntu Concept, with similar headlights, tail lights
, and overall profile. Our spy photographers say the Yuntu was testing with the elongated Cherokee-based mule, as well as a Chrysler Pacifica minivan
and a Volvo XC90 plug-in hybrid. Considering the Yuntu Concept promised to deliver a plug-in hybrid SUV, it makes sense that itís being benchmarked against the Volvo XC90 plug-in hybrid.
Hopefully in the coming months it will become more clear how the Yuntu will be used in the U.S., whether itís the Jeep Grand Wagoneer or a Chrysler SUV.
